coming to the shop soon!

"friendships were formed"

I've been working on some Revived Relics with handmade links and lots of old goodies!

Hopefully I'll get these in the shop before Big Daddy and I head to NYC to visit Dawn and Tom this weekend!

To see more, head on over to my Flickr.

fab folk and junking it up......

Oh~me~oh~my...I can't seem to get enough of the fab, groovy, organized, disorganized, inspiring and beautiful photos that are being posted at Studio Works. Because of Studio Works, I am able to find some incredible artists to drool over!

I'm also finding that there are a lot of junkers like myself!

THIS girl is someone to go see. Her blog is filled with beautiful vintage finds, and yummy handmade wares.

Here's a picture she posted at Studio Works.

YEAH...I think you get the picture.

Speaking of fabulous folk....dearest Kathleen, I loved our super long phone chat today! It brightened my day! xoxox

Speaking of studio talk, I've been filling up on vintage goodies to make more jewels with. I stopped in at one of my favorite antique co-ops and walked out with 2 bags filled with great JUNK. I thought about posting a picture...but then it wouldn't be much of a surprise to see what I come up with...so we'll just keep it a secret for now. I will tell you I got a big lot of vintage magazines for $10.00 (some of seriously need to join "collage whores anonymous"!!) I bought old books, utensils, junk jewelry...and some not so junky jewlery. I'm really excited about the "not so junky jewelry pieces"....I think I can make some cool stuff from them.

I used to be in this co-op back in the antique/painted furniture days, and I have to tell you I felt that old antique fever strike. I loved setting up my booth, and playing with pretty vintage finds! I just have to remind myself that putting everything into perspective, and keeping the art on a smaller level has been wonderfully fullfilling...(and easier on the back too).

Well...that's about it here today gang, SIL Beth and her man are on there way for a little Saturday evening happy hour. Cath up with you soon, Peace out.....

busy for art's sake

TRULY....I have been toiling away for art's sake! Between the shop, Studio Works, and a few secret projects, life's been hectic here in my neck of the woods!

I have made a new batch of LOOK CLOSELY necklaces. I love that you all love them and buy them up... so I hope you don't mind that I put a new little twist on them once again! There are so many pretty ribbons out there now, they make me long for Spring, so I thought there'd be no harm in trying some different ribbon!! I've also added an extra touch to some of the dangles, using copper flowers, beads and vintage buttons.

I have been concentrating more on the REVIVED RELICS part of the shop. I really love using old things as my muse for a piece. Unfortunately, I had some pieces made for the shop, but they've been whisked away for some of those "secret projects". I am currently making more, so please stay tuned!

In other new happenings, I started a Flickr group called "Studio Works: art, treasure and tales".  You would not believe some of the beautiful shots that are being posted in the group! We also have some fun discussions going on as well, and I've made some new friends, that are not only fabulous artists, but just good ole fabulous folk in general!

This is a little close up from Abby Gabert's studio. I'm drooling at the sheer goodness of it!

This is new shelving that Big Daddy built for me!! FINALLY...nice and organized!

to the left is my little shipping corner, I'm thinking of hanging a curtain there to hide the endless stash of peanuts, tissue, boxes and other packing material. I have to say.... having that corner makes all the difference in the world!

I will continue to feature more gorgeous and creative photos from this group, but if you want to get inspired go check it out! AND feel free to join!

OK...I've got to head back up to the studio! I'm having a bit of trouble getting good photos of my FUNKY STIX for the shop, so back to the drawing board for me! If I get any, I'll post a few. OH WAIT! I did get one decent shot of the cute handmade gift box that the STIX will come in!

The papers and ribbon will vary according to what I've got in my paper/ribbon stash, but they will all be equally beautiful, and perfect for gift giving! FUNKY STIX are made to wear in your hair, or use as a pretty addition to your shawl or scarf.

OK....NOW I am really signing off!!

xoxox

UPDATE: OK...it's 4:18 am and I can't sleep! I've had a bit of a flu, and I keep coughing, and I don't want to wake Big Daddy. He has been so wonderful this weekend, taking care of all of the house hold chores, hauling wood, shoveling snow, making breakfast and dinner so I could get many projects done while being sick! The least I could do is let the man get some sleep!

I wanted to mention that I have done a a bit of an early Spring cleaning in the shop. There are quite a few items on sale...(some are really big savings)....in just about every category. So if you've been pining a way for something, maybe it will be on sale!

I have started to take a bit of a turn with my art and jewlery...I've always been one to go forward in my creativity, I don't stop for too long in one place. So cleaning out the shop (like my studio)is a mental "moving forward to the next creative endevor" step.

thanks for listening....

I have been working on new goodies for the shop! These Funky Stix were all drying in a row, and I thought they'd be perfect to add to a new group I started over at Flickr called     "Studio Works".

You all are invited to join!

I'm hoping to have Junque Revival up and running again no later then the weekend! My little 2 week vacation mysteriously turned into 6 weeks!

I'm not really sure how that happens.
