Crazy Snowmen

Even though I've never been the best at sewing, I sometimes get a craving to do a project other then painting. Being in the antique business I tend to hoard funny little things. Most of you probably know by now that I love old paper. I also love vintage fabrics & buttons. I sell vintage linens, but keep any that have stains or holes in them for crafting.

I know they're crazy!

They are made from an old tablecloth, vintage buttons, buckles, old papers, leftover yarn and Christmas cards from the 30's and 40's. I got a little more creative with the next batch and hung old photos, etc. along side the Christmas cards.....so they seem to be holding more. (sorry, didn't get pics. before I ran them over to the shop).

Have you all been checking out the amazing gifts from the Gifty? Way too much fun....and I can't believe all of the talented wrappers out there! It's also been fun to check out some talented blogs!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And for some of you who asked, let's see if I can be a little more clear on the scarf directions.
#11 34" circulars
Pick a color from your batch of yarns
Cast on 300 stitches (for a scarf that goes to your knees) OR about 150 for a regular sized scarf. Be smart....do a swatch.
This is ALL knit stitch!
Knit a row of the same color you cast on with. At the end leave about a 5" tail. Pick a second color and tie it on to the dangling piece that you just cut.
At the end of that row....repeat. Pick a new color for each row. Keep leaving 5" pieces at the end so you will have your fringe, then you can cut your fringe to the desired length when you are done.
You can do a pattern of colors if you want OR you can just do a funky mix of colors.
When you get to the width you want, knit your last row, then bind off with that same color.
When you bind off, try not to do it too tight, or you will get a "curl" in your scarf like I did! *This would be a great project for leftover yarn*
Good luck....and have a great weekend!
Sorry my "GIFTY" was so crappy. I'm sure to do better next time! Also, I've just realized that part of it was left out of the package! Dear me! Now it's EXTRA crappy.
